Libya – the United Nations is concerned about the effects of violence in Tripoli on civilians

The organization indicated, in a press release, that there is a great danger of collective displacement in addition to the risks to the safety of civilians. The organization stated that it includes its voice to other United Nations partners in calling for an immediate endowment of hostilities to ensure the safety and welfare of civilians in line with international humanitarian law.

The United Nations Immigration Organization welcomed the ceasefire reports and urged its entire respect and without conditions to protect the rights and dignity of all those present in the affected areas.

The organization confirmed that it continues to work with its partners to support humanitarian access to all vulnerable groups, including immigrants. She said she is watching possible immigration trends, and she stands ready to provide support if necessary.
