Emirates and the United States .. huge investments that reflect the durability of the strategic partnership

The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Technology Affairs, Imran Sharaf, stressed that the huge Emirati investment of $ 1.4 trillion in the American economy reflects the strategic strategic partnership of decades between the UAE and the United States, which is increasingly focused on emerging technologies.
This came during an interview with CNN, in conjunction with US President Donald Trump’s visit to the Emirates, which he described as “very important and historical.”
He said that the fields of cooperation in science and technology have become an essential and growing pillar in bilateral relations, citing the UAE’s mission to Mars, in which he was “the main partner in transferring knowledge is the United States”, adding: “We would not have succeeded without working alongside our American partners.”
He pointed out that the partnership expanded to include vital emerging techniques, such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and energy. He said, “This investment reflects the fruit of contracts from the partnership, and emphasizes mutual trust between the two countries.”
He also stressed that the Emirati -American relationship is based on mutual benefit, and that these investments “will not create opportunities for the Emirates only at the economic, social and regional levels, but also for the American economy, by providing jobs, and attracting talents in both countries.”
He stressed the importance of cooperation in setting up responsible governance frameworks for emerging technologies, and said: “It is necessary that we have relationships characterized by close cooperation and mutual investments, and to invent governance systems of these new technologies that may have dangerous consequences if they are misused.”
