The program this year witnessed an unprecedented turnout, as the number of requests submitted reached 516 requests from 36 countries, compared to 270 requests from 31 countries in the previous session, achieving 91 % growth in the number of requests, and a geographical expansion of 16 %, which embodies the growth of confidence in the center’s efforts in supporting scientific research in the Arabic language, and consolidating its position internationally.

This increased demand is a translation of the center’s commitment to its strategy to enhance the position of the Arabic language as a language capable of producing knowledge and keeping pace with scientific and cultural transformations in the world, as it reflects its keenness to provide a stimulating environment for academic creativity, and encouraging researchers to develop qualitative and inspiring scientific projects, contributing to enriching the Arabic language and enhancing Abu Dhabi’s position as a platform incubating Arab creativity.

The long list included 31 works distributed in five main cognitive areas, namely: literature and criticism (12 posts), applied and computer linguistics (two posts), the Arabic lexicon (5 posts), the achievement of manuscripts (9 posts), and Arabic education for speakers with others (3 posts).

These projects varied in terms of issues raised and approved scientific methodologies, which reflects the depth of the research movement related to the Arabic language and its diversity.

The qualified works constitute a qualitative addition to the Arab cognitive content, because of the innovative research visions that accompany scientific and cognitive developments, and enhance the presence of the Arabic language in the global academic circles, in line with the UAE’s vision to establish its position as a regional center for innovation and cognitive production.
