The presence of global leaders, “Victory Day”, highlights Russia’s international position

With the passage of tanks, missiles and aircraft Russian march across the Red Square in Moscow, during the annual “Victory Day” review to celebrate the surrender of Nazi Germany in World War II, President Vladimir Putin joined at least 20 global leaders, achieving a special victory as a leader that the West sought to remove.

After faded celebrations in the past years, I witnessed a small number of tanks and an almost complete absence of leaders, Russia welcomed this year the eighty anniversary of “victory” in Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, Slovakia, Serbia, Egypt, Vietnam and Venezuela, and other countries that Moscow calls “friendly countries”, in the most running Flood and emotional.

In the midst of the intense propaganda campaign of “Victory Day”, Putin filmed himself as a confident world leader who is on the path of defeating Ukraine in light of the disintegration of the coalition between the United States and Europe, and Kiev’s forces were under pressure, and negotiations to end the war on Russia’s terms largely.

Putin said in the red arena: “The truth and justice in our ranks,” adding: “The whole country, society, and the whole people support the participants in the private military operation,” referring to the war against Ukraine, noting that their design and courage “only brought us victory.”

Russian weapons

Russian weapons included in this year the ballistic “Alexander” missiles, Russian drones, and Tornado-S missiles, and heavy flame bombs “Tossushka”, all of which were used in the war against Ukraine, as the Ballisti “Yaris” rockets passed by Russian continents capable of carrying nuclear warheads across the red arena.

Putin sat next to Jinping during the event, and he bent over to talk to him through a translator. After the show, the Russian soldiers who participated in the war shook hands with Ukraine and foreign military officers, who all greeted him, including a group of senior military officials from North Korea, and one of them embraced for a short period.

Special forces from North Korea are fighting alongside Russia to expel the Ukrainians from Kursk in southern Russia, something that Moscow and Pyongyang did not recognize only.

A special court

“The presence of world leaders has shown the failure of Western efforts to isolate Putin and defeat Russia,” said colleague at the Carnegie Russia and Eurasia Center, Tatiana Stanovaya. She added, “It highlights Russia’s position as an important part of the world.”

With the walking soldiers from Russia’s allies in the Red Square, a number of European foreign ministers met in Ukraine to sign the establishment of a special court to try high -level Russian officials on charges of committing the “crime of aggression against Ukraine”.

The High Representative of Foreign and Security Policy in the European Union visited Kaya Callas and more than 15 foreign ministers, including ministers from France, Germany and Britain, the city of Lviv, where they officially supported the establishment of the court, which will be established by the Council of Europe, the leading body in the field of human rights control in the continent, which was established after the Second World War.

Ukraine has sought to establish the court since the beginning of the war to sue the Russian leadership on the 2022 war. The European Union has sought to mobilize international support for the plan, an arduous task facing divisions on the Russian war, including within the United Nations.

However, the agreement on the court is crowned for nearly two years of talks and legal planning, as it was supported by 37 countries, including most European Union countries, Britain, Canada and Norway.

Security precautions

A European Union official stated that despite Washington’s participation in the court talks during the era of former US President Joe Biden, the United States will not join these countries now.

The official, who spoke, provided that his identity was not disclosed before the court was announced, that the court may prosecute senior officials in absentia, but Putin has immunity until the end of his mandate.

The International Criminal Court has begun its own investigation into allegations against Russia for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and issued an arrest warrant against Putin, but it does not have the authority to prosecute the crime of aggression in the case of Ukraine.

In Moscow, strict security reserves were taken after a series of attacks caused Ukrainian drones earlier with a massive turmoil in airports. The mobile internet service was cut around the display area on the day of victory to thwart more attacks.

The snipers teams were seen from the surface of the Kremlin and the shopping center overlooking the red arena.

Lyodella told the Washington Post that it believes that Russia is “indomitable”, and said that the presence of foreign leaders to show a “good sign.”

“It is great to have this great support and to unite other countries around us,” the Russian widow added.

When Oleg, 50 years old, a volunteer fighting at the Siberia battalion, was asked to explain the ties between World War II and the current war in Ukraine, he considered it a global war and a civil war at the same time. In the end, his family was originally from Ukraine before it was forcibly sent to Siberia in the Caesarean period.

“All concepts are intertwined, they distorted the truth and reflected it, they call themselves Ukrainians,” Oleg said, adding that he will return to the front once the show is over.

Besides the Chinese president, Putin presents himself as a leader in a new world order that the United States is no longer dominated, seeking to exploit the shift of foreign policy of US President Donald Trump and weaken the global regime based on rules. On the “Washington Post”

During the era of US President Donald Trump, the United States retracted its strong support for Ukraine, expressed a contradiction in its position towards its European allies, and reduced the powers of government agencies that fight electronic attacks, misleading and Russian intervention. But in recent weeks, Trump seemed to lose his patience towards Russia.

Despite Trump’s friendly initiatives towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, the director of the Carnegie Center for Russia and Eurasia warned Alexander Gabouv that Russia’s position towards Western countries has not changed radically, saying: “Putin has made confrontation with the West the organized principle of Russian life,” adding: “Whatever Trump made efforts, Russia during the era of Putin will never be a state that does not form a country A threat to Europe and the United States. ”
