The Minister of Justice presides over the preparatory meeting of the Higher Committee to host the United Nations Crime Conference 2026

Abu Dhabi, May 19/ WAM/ His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al -Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, was chaired yesterday, the first preparatory meeting of the Supreme Committee concerned with supervising the UAE hosting of the fourteenth United Nations Conference for Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi during the period from 25 to 30 April 2026, under the title “accelerate the prevention of crime, criminal justice and the rule of law: protecting people and the planet and achieving the sustainable development plan 2030 in Digital Age.
The conference is expected to attract 3000 participants from senior international officials, including ministers, representatives of governmental and non -governmental organizations and a group of specialized experts, to discuss the most prominent challenges and opportunities in the areas of crime prevention, criminal justice, and the rule of law in light of digital developments
His Excellency the Minister of Justice stressed, during the meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters, the importance of integration and coordination with the strategic partners in the country, to ensure the readiness of all the concerned sectors, and to provide an honorable Emirati model in hosting major international conferences, in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of the conference, and supports the state’s vision in promoting international partnership and achieving sustainable development according to the highest standards and global practices.
During the meeting, the preparatory work plan was reviewed, and the formation of the sub -committees emanating from the Supreme Committee and its competencies, which in turn will coordinate with the relevant authorities; To ensure high professionalism in the well and good organization of the conference, and in partnership with the strategic bodies in the country, in a way that enhances confidence, and reflects the status of the UAE global, and its leadership in supporting justice issues and the rule of law.
