"ADNOC" New horizons open to the industrial sector through its program to enhance national content

Abu Dhabi, May 20 / WAM / Dr. Saleh Al -Hashemi, Head of the Department of Commercial Affairs and Local Value added in ADNOC, confirmed that “ADNOC” is one of the main supporters of the “Made in the Emirates” initiative through its program to enhance the national content of the industrial sector, which is a basic pillar in the company’s strategy to localize the industry and enhance the flexibility of the national economy.
Al -Hashemi said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM”, on the sidelines of the activities of the fourth session of “Made in the Emirates”, that “ADNOC”, in partnership with the strategic bodies and private sector companies, contributes to opening new horizons for local industries, and establishing the pillars of a prosperous and sustainable economy, which enhances the UAE’s position as a competitive industrial center at the regional and global levels.
He pointed out that the fourth session of “Made in the Emirates” constitutes a major platform for exploring investment opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and participating in interactive discussions that accompany the aspirations of the industrial sector, which represents the largest non -oil contributor to the gross domestic product of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
He added that “ADNOC” focused during her participation in the event on reviewing its plans related to buying locally manufactured products and strategic partnerships and its continuous commitment to supporting the goals of the initiative, which contributes to accelerating the pace of economic diversification and enhancing the state’s industrial base.
Dr. Al -Hashemi pointed out that “ADNOC” aims to buy local manufacturing products with a value of up to 90 billion dirhams by 2030, as part of its efforts to provide feasible opportunities for manufacturers, investors and entrepreneurs, enhance the capabilities of the local industrial system, and support sustainable industrial growth.
He pointed out that “ADNOC” continues its efforts to support national industries through innovative solutions, including the “Make with ADNOC” application for smartphones, which provides companies with a comprehensive view of future purchase opportunities, and enables them to actively participate in the supply chain through soft and comprehensive procedures.
He stated that the “ADNOC” purchasing power and advanced supply chains it enjoys enhances its ability to advance economic diversification and effective contribution to achieving sustainable industrial development.
He expressed “ADNOC” with its strategic partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, to support the “Made in the Emirates” initiative through the national content program, which has proven successful since its launch in 2018, and contributed to the redirect of 242 billion dirhams to the local economy, and to provide more than 17 thousand job opportunities for citizens in the private sector.
He said that “ADNOC” intends, through the developed version of the program, to redirect up to 200 billion dirhams to the national economy during the next five years, in order to support strategic projects and enhance the elasticity of the industrial base.
Al -Hashemi affirmed the commitment of “ADNOC” to reduce dependence on imports and enhance the competitiveness of national products, calling on manufacturers and entrepreneurs to seize the opportunities available in “Made in the Emirates” to contribute to accelerating the growth of the industrial sector in the country.
