Dubai, May 20 / WAM / The “Gameexpo Dubai” summit, which was held at the Dubai Games and Digital Sports Festival, attracted more than 1,400 experts and specialists in the Games and Digital Sports Sector from 70 countries, to discuss the growing opportunities offered by this sector in the Middle East and North Africa.

The summit was organized on May 7 and 8 at the Dubai World Trade Center, with the support of “Phuket Jameer Conces” in cooperation with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and witnessed a wide participation of decision makers, entrepreneurs and innovators, as the number of attendees reached more than 1700 people.

The summit witnessed the organization of more than 2000 working meetings through the “Meettomatch” platform, in addition to discussion sessions in which more than 75 speakers participated, including government officials and international experts in the gaming sector, who dealt with various topics such as artificial intelligence, web3 technologies, growth strategies and attracting users.

The summit also included the “Pitchplay” event, which was held in partnership with the Dubai Multiple Commodities Center, and presented a platform for startups to review their projects against international investors, where the “Filiokus” studio won a prize of 55 thousand dirhams. The summit also witnessed the return of the “Vry Big Indie Pitch” competition, which showed a diversity in the creations of independent developers.

Mona Al Falasi, Director of Games and Digital Sports Strategies at the Dubai Festival and Retail Festival, stressed that the summit contributed to the consolidation of Dubai’s position as a global center for the game industry, and supported the goals of the “Dubai Electronic Games program 2033” by attracting investments, empowering emerging talents and promoting the digital economy.
