"Emeraj": Unprecedented growth on clean energy solutions in the Emirates and the region

Abu Dhabi, May 21 / WAM / Michelle Abi Saab, General Manager of Emeraj for solar energy solutions, confirmed that the demand for clean energy solutions is witnessing unprecedented growth in the Emirates and the region, noting that during one year in 2024, Emeraj managed to double its capacity compared to the previous year, in a clear evidence of the escalation of institutions towards achieving the goals of carbon neutrality and reducing costs Operating.
He said in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of “Made in the Emirates”: Emeraj is a local company founded in 2021 as a joint project between the Emirati Masdar Company and the French EDF group, and is concerned with developing decentralized solar energy solutions and energy storage, in addition to integrated hybrid solutions, whether on the network or outside.
He pointed out that the demand for the services of “Emerg” is increasing very quickly, especially in light of the UAE’s commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050, adding: The market in the Emirates has become more mature and ready to adopt clean energy solutions.
He emphasized that, within three to four years, the company was able to secure card projects exceeding 250 megawatts in the region, with more than 100 sites actually operating.
He added: Among our customers are prominent partners such as ADNOC, the Sharjah National Oil Company, C. World, Coca -Cola, and other major institutions, all of which benefit from our solutions to accelerate access to sustainability goals at a lower cost.
Abi Saab pointed out that growth was not limited to the UAE only, but also includes the Saudi market, which is witnessing increasing interest in solar energy and energy storage.
He continued: We focus in particular on medium and large companies, because the impact on this category is greater, and we can achieve a tangible impact on reducing emissions and providing energy at very competitive prices.
In the context of expanding the project network, Abi Saab announced the signing of three new agreements during “Make in the Emirates”, one of which is with a local steel manufacturing company based in Abu Dhabi, through which we will install a sunscreen with a capacity of 1 megawatts to feed their operations, and a second agreement with a local manufacturer in Ras Al Khaimah, a solar power system will be installed with a solution to store energy.
He added: The third agreement is a memorandum of understanding with the Emirates Development Bank, which aims to provide the necessary funding to accelerate the pace of the implementation of solar energy projects in the Emirates, and this partnership will enable us to support companies of all sizes, especially those that seek to move to clean energy, but lack the required financing.
Abi Saab stressed his confidence in the continued growth during the next year at the same pace, noting that the cost of solar energy solutions and energy storage, in addition to national obligations to climate neutrality, will constitute a great incentive for further expansion.
