33 thousand male and female students participate in the Abu Dhabi Sports Games Championship for Schools and Universities

Abu Dhabi, May 22/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Sports Games Championship for Schools and Universities 2025, which was organized by the Department of Education and Knowledge – Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, during the period from November 2024 to May 2025 about 33 thousand male and female students from 389 schools and 13 universities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra and competed in 18 different sport.
His Excellency Dr. Bashayer Al -Matroushi, Executive Director of the Talent Empowerment Sector in the Department of Education and Knowledge, said that this tournament embodied the firm commitment of the circle to the care and development of students ’capabilities through games and sports competitions, and with more than 33 thousand participants, given that this version is the largest and most inspiring so far.
For his part, His Excellency Talal Mustafa Al -Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said that the Abu Dhabi Sports Championship reflects the commitment of the Council’s continuous commitment to support school and university sports, which is an essential pillar for building a promising generation of professional athletes.
He added that the great participation and the strong interaction that this season witnessed highlights the enormous capabilities that young people enjoy, expressing his happiness in partnership with the Department of Education and Knowledge and the Ministry of Education in this pioneering initiative that enhances the culture of sport and constructive competition among students.
The department recently organized a ceremony to honor the participants in the championship, where the distinguished schools were honored, and more than 500 students were celebrated and the medals were distributed to them in appreciation of their sports performance, their high sporting spirit, and their persistent perseverance.
The visitors also enjoyed the atmosphere of student competitions and live entertainment, in addition to the interactive fans area that includes challenges and experiences supported by modern technologies.
It is noteworthy that this tournament is part of the comprehensive talent development program launched by the Department of Education and Knowledge, as well as the policy of education and school sport adopted by the department, which aims to enhance the culture of activity and sports health in schools, through a comprehensive approach to enhancing the culture of physical education, and activating the role of parents in supporting this approach.
