Jordan allows its citizens to travel by land to Syria

The Jordanian Ministry of Interior decided to allow Jordanian citizens to travel to the Syrian Arab Republic through the Jaber border center, without the need to obtain prior security approval, as of today, May 22, 2025.

The decision is a new step in facilitating the movement of citizens between the two countries, and it is likely that it will reflect positively on the number of Jordanian travelers to Syria, especially with the approaching summer season.

Traveling to Syria through the land crossings previously required special security approval, which constituted an obstacle for many who wish to travel for family or commercial purposes.
