Hamdan bin Mohammed witnesses the signing of the agreement to develop and operate the first phase of the Kindergarten Economic Zone in Al -Buraimi

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, witnessed today in Muscat, in the presence of His Highness Sayyid Yazan bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Sultanate of Oman, the signing of the agreement to develop and operate the first phase of the Economic Zone in Kindergarten, in the mandate of Mahdi, in Al -Buraimi Governorate, within the framework of the prosperous partnership and economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The signing of the agreement was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the second deputy governor of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President of the Dubai Authority for Integrated Economic Zones “Diez”, Supreme President of the CEO of Emirates Airlines and the group, and Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Culture and Arts Authority in Dubai.

The agreement was signed by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in the Sultanate of Oman, Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al -Theeb, Vice -President of the Authority, and on the UAE side represented by a pure development company, Sultan Ahmed bin Salim, Chairman and CEO of the Dubai Ports Group “DP and Recess”.

It is noteworthy that a pure development company is an Emirati-Omani joint project, and the Dubai Ports Group “DPDDDDD” is the largest partner in it.

The signing of the agreement was also attended by Muhammad bin Abdullah Al -Qarqawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Omar Sultan Al -Alami, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Labor Technologies, Maryam Bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State, Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chambers, Abdullah Al -Basti For the Emirate of Dubai, and Lieutenant General Talal in Al -Hall Al -Falasi, head of the State Security Service in Dubai, and Hilal Saeed Al -Murri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

For his part, Sultan Ahmed bin Salim, Chairman and CEO of the Dubai Ports Group “DP and Derld” said: “The special economic kindergarten area represents a new chapter in the growing economic relationship between the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE, through joint work with the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones and our Omani partners, the new economic zone will enhance our close commercial ties while reflecting our common ambition to achieve economic growth Sustainable and varied. ”

He added: “We in” DBDDDD “are committed to developing a global level platform that would provide new opportunities for growth, enhance commercial linking, and achieve sustainable economic value for both the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE.

For his part, Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al -Theeb said during his speech at the ceremony: “The Economic Zone of Kindergarten was designed to achieve priority development goals, including providing job opportunities, attracting knowledge and modern technologies, and providing a stimulating business environment that helps to achieve sustainable development. These are all goals that Oman vision future 2040.”

He added: “The Kindergarten Economic Zone in Al -Buraimi Governorate has an important strategic location between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and it is linked to the ports of Sohar and Jabal Ali, which can provide logistical services, manufacturers and commercial companies, from accessing efficiency and competitive cost to the markets of the Gulf, Asia and Africa.”

The area designated for the first stage of the project is 14 square kilometers, and it is expected to reach 25 square kilometers in the second stage, and the new economic zone will benefit from its association with the Port of Jebel Ali in the Emirate of Dubai and the ports of the Sultanate of Oman.

Within the framework of the agreement, a mute development company will establish public facilities and basic structures, prepare the general plan, environmental studies and initial visualization of the designated space, with targeting attracting many economic activities in the first stage, most notably the activities of manufacturing industries, logistics services, warehouses, pharmaceutical, medical, plastic, mining and food industries, security and safety services, while providing the feature of unified services in a place One.

The Kindergarten Economic Zone project represents a strategic step aimed at benefiting from the distinguished geographical location of the region, enhancing investment opportunities in supply and supply chains, and developing re -export centers between the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE and regional and international markets, and the region will constitute a major motivation for economic diversification, in line with the Dubai Economic Agency D33 And “Oman Vision 2040” and aims to attract foreign direct investment, enhance industrial product, and provide thousands of job opportunities with their expansion during the coming decades.

It is noteworthy that in the year 2024, the volume of non -oil trade exchange between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman reached a record level of 56 billion dirhams (5.84 billion Omani riyals), an increase of 9.8% over the previous year, which confirms the deepening of economic ties between the two countries and the kindergarten region will accelerate this trend by providing a advanced system for trade and manufacturing.
