Muhammad al -Sharqi opens the first specialized facility for the neighborhood lime in Fujairah and confirms its position as a global destination in the mining industries
Fujairah on May 27/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, confirmed the prominent role of the emirate in supporting the local economy, and its leading position as a global center in the field of mining industries and attracting global investments in the industry and economy sector.
This came during the opening of His Highness, the “Power International” factory – the first limestone facility in the Emirate of Fujairah, in the presence of Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director General of the Fujairah Digital Government, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness.
His Highness pointed to the support and follow -up of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, for advanced and specialized industrial projects that contribute to supporting the pillars of comprehensive and sustainable development in the Emirate of Fujairah and the state, and enhancing the emirate’s position as a global destination in the fields of mining and manufacturing industries at the local and international levels.
For his part, Mr. Niconj Bathawal, Director General of the factory, stressed that the success of this project came as a result of the support of the Fujairah government and the insightful strategic vision of its wise leadership, with the aim of enhancing the march of economic and industrial development in the region, indicating that the factory represents more than just an industrial infrastructure, as it was designed according to the highest international standards, putting sustainability, safety and operational distinction at the forefront of its priorities.
He added that the factory works using the latest technologies designated in extracting live lime from limestone, and that the production capacity in the first stage is 120 thousand tons annually, announcing the addition of a second production line with the same production capacity in a second stage and is scheduled to be implemented by 2026, bringing the total production to 240 thousand tons annually.
On this occasion, His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Saif Al -Afkhal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Foundation for Natural Resources, affirmed that the opening of the factory represents a strategic station that reflects the Foundation’s commitment to the employment of natural resources effectively, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, and the follow -up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
He pointed out that the future directions of the Foundation aim to enhance the role of this vital sector in achieving sustainable development, by supporting industrial innovation, and expanding the horizons of the local and global market, in a way that enhances the position of the Emirate of Fujairah as a leading industrial center that contributes to developing the local economy and achieving economic diversification in the country in line with the UAE Vision 2030 and 2071.
For his part, His Excellency Eng. Ali Qassem, Director General of the Foundation, affirmed that the development projects witnessed by Fujairah in the last period and will witness them in the coming period reflecting innovative industrial solutions in achieving sustainable development, and opening new horizons for cooperation with partners in the public and private sectors, according to the aspirations and directions of the Fujairah government.
He explained that the factory will contribute to raising the efficiency of production and providing high -quality products, which meets the needs of the local and international market, as the Power International Factory represents a qualitative addition to the mining sector in Fujairah as the first factory specialized in the production of live lime in the emirate, and it enters into many vital industries represented in the food and chemical industries and water treatment, as well as building materials industry such as cement, ceramics and glass industry.
The opening of the facility was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al -Zyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, and a number of managers and officials in the Fujairah government.
