The conclusion of the eighth session of the Dibba Al -Hosn Festival for the Bilateral Theater

Sharjah, May 28 / WAM / The activities of the eighth session of the Dibba Al -Hosn Festival for the Bilateral Theater, organized by the Department of Culture in Sharjah, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The closing was attended by Ahmed Bouraima, director of theater department in the department and the festival director.
The fans of the closing night witnessed the Egyptian show “Profile” by the presentation of the “Layali Al -Masry” group, which was written by Nahid Al -Tahan, and the drama of the Egyptian, and directed by Enas Al -Masry, and the starring role in it, Mai Reda and Nashah Muhammad.
The show dealt with an imaginary meeting between two women’s characters of different cultural eras and contexts, namely “Media” from Greek mythology and “Amina”, the heroine of the Naguib Mahfouz trilogy, and the show relied on intensive dialogue, the use of digital media, music and sound effects to enhance the narrative and visual structure.
After the show, a critical symposium was held by the Egyptian theater artist, Fadi Nashat, witnessed interventions praising the work, in terms of offering and treatment, and praised the team’s performance and ambition in raising current societal issues.
The festival’s activities started on Friday, May 23, with the participation of five Arab theater teams that made performances belonging to the bilateral theater template, which are: “17 hours” for the Sharjah National Theater band, “individual salvation” for a group that brings together trees from Syria, “Hayat and Dream” for the Al -Shammat Theater Band from Morocco, and “to prepare a boiled egg” for the Kuwaiti theater group, along with the Egyptian show.
The festival also hosted within its activities the twentieth edition of the Sharjah Forum for the Arab Theater, and organized three specialized workshops targeting the school theater activists, dealt with topics in directing, cinemography, and doll art.
It is noteworthy that the Dibba Al -Hosn Festival for the Bilateral Theater was established in 2016, in translation of the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of spreading and diversifying the theatrical activity in the emirate, extending and strengthening bridges of communication and exchange of knowledge between Emirati theatrical theatrical and their brothers in the Arab world.
