Continue The Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh Implementing the project to develop Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz I Road (northern part), by starting the work to develop its intersection with the Northern Ring Road, which includes the construction of three bridges, as part of completing the stages of the project aimed at raising the efficiency of one of the most important traffic axes in the north of the capital.

The authority explained that the work being implemented will contribute to raising the road’s capacity to more than 200,000 vehicles per day, and enhancing connectivity between the vital axes in the north of the city of Riyadh. Which reflects positively on the flow of Traffic movement and reducing travel time.

The currently implemented part of the Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz I Road development project at its intersection with the Northern Ring Road extends for more than 3 kilometers, and includes developing the road’s lanes and raising the level of service through advanced engineering solutions aimed at improving the transportation experience and enhancing the efficiency of the road network in the capital.

Addressing traffic bottleneck points

The implementation of these works comes within the Authority’s ongoing efforts to address bottleneck points. traffic, and enhancing connectivity between the main axes and vital areas; In keeping with the rapid urban and population growth witnessed by the city of Riyadh.

The project is one of the components of the program to develop the main and ring road axes in the city of Riyadh, which includes the implementation and development of more than 500 kilometers of the road network, by raising the efficiency of the existing axes, developing new roads, and enhancing integration between them. In support of building an integrated and sustainable urban transportation system and achieving quality of life goals in the capital.

The program also includes the development of a number of bridges, tunnels and major intersections. With the aim of increasing the capacity of the road network, improving the flow of traffic, and supporting integration with the public transportation system in the city of Riyadh; In line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in developing an advanced and sustainable infrastructure that supports economic and urban growth.
