Japanese industrial production decreased in April

Tokyo on May 31 / WAM / Japanese industrial production decreased in April by 0.9% from the previous month, due to a decrease in the manufacture of flat display screens, according to the data of the Ministry of Industry and Economy.
The Ministry of Industrial Production’s main evaluation remained unchanged, which is that it “fluctuates decisively in unaccounted conditions for the environment surrounding production.”
The ministry stated that the impact of American customs duties on the total data was limited, while some companies expressed concern about manufacturing prospects.
And between 15 industrial sectors included in the survey, which witnessed six sectors, including production machines and transport equipment except for cars and manufactured minerals, a decrease in production, while eight sectors, including spare parts, electronic devices, public machines and devices designated for business, were recorded, and the rest of the manufacturing industries, including carbon fibers, remained unchanged from the previous month.
The production of machinery decreased by 8.7% due to the decline in the production of manufacturing equipment for export display, while the production of spare parts and electronic devices increased by 5.4%, supported by strong demand on electronic circuits and logical integrated circuits for local and external use.
Based on an opinion poll conducted by the Ministry between industrial companies, the ministry expects production to jump by 9% in May, mainly driven by production machines, and then decreases by 3.4% in June.
In April, the industrial shipping index rose while the stock index decreased.
