Full control of the Hamriyah port fire

The local team of emergency, crisis and disasters in the Emirate of Sharjah affirmed full control of the fire that broke out at exactly six o’clock in the morning yesterday, Saturday, in the port of Hamriyah as a result of the ignition of petrochemical materials, after a field response characterized by speed, high readiness, institutional integration, and accuracy in carrying out tasks.
Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander -in -Chief of Sharjah Police, head of the local team for emergency, crisis and disaster, explained that the specialized teams managed to completely control the fire at exactly six o’clock and 25 minutes of Sunday morning, within 24 hours of its outbreak.
He pointed out that the concerned authorities have started cooling operations on the site, while the technical teams specialized in the management of laboratories and criminal evidence will undertake the tasks of identifying the causes of the fire and evaluating damage, in coordination with the relevant authorities, provided that the results are officially announced as soon as the technical and laboratory procedures are completed.
Major General Ibn Amer stressed that the specialized teams dealt with the accident from the first moment with a high professionalism, according to a systematic plan based on combating fire, securing its surroundings, isolating the sources of danger, using the latest equipment and mechanisms, and supported by specialized technical teams from local and national authorities, led by the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the National Guard, the National Authority for Emergency, Crises and Disaster Management, and all civil defense departments in The state, joint aviation, municipalities of Sharjah and Hamriyah, the Civil Aviation Department in Sharjah, Sharjah International Airport Authority, and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC); Which contributed to containing the fire, and preventing its extension to neighboring locations.
The head of the local team for emergency, crisis and disasters indicated that what has achieved positive results is due to Fadlallah and then the speed of response, the efficiency of the field teams, and effective coordination; This reflects a deliberate readiness within the emergency system, as the difference embodied the spirit of institutional work that places the safety of lives and preserving property at the top of priorities.
He stressed that this response is a practical application of the crisis and emergency management strategies in the Emirate of Sharjah; In accordance with the national response system, and reflects the ability of the UAE to deal with various challenges efficiently and competently.
