Since the launch of the program, the UAE has adopted the approach to cooperation and openness to international partners, as this trend helped to link pivotal countries in the nuclear energy sector, starting with the Republic of Korea, to the United States of America, with which the state entered a number of qualitative partnerships.
His Excellency Mohamed Al Hammadi, Managing Director and CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, stressed the international status of the peaceful nuclear program, by developing a global model during its career to add nuclear energy within the various and distinguished energy sources portfolio, explaining that this approach is based on the vision of rational leadership, the clear road map, and the commitment to the highest standards of safety and transparency, along with close international cooperation.

He referred to the new model of international cooperation presented by the UAE and the United States with regard to keeping pace with the requirements of the times and its enormous technological achievements, especially artificial intelligence and data centers, and ensuring energy security from reliable and clean sources such as nuclear energy, to support the “Stargate Emirates” project launched by a group of technology companies, to lead the renaissance of artificial intelligence in the world from Abu Dhabi.
In turn, the relevant Emirati authorities, led by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company and the Federal Nuclear Control Authority, play a major role in enhancing the position of the UAE nuclear program, through a network of international strategic and technical partnerships, which contributed to the transfer of knowledge, exchange of experiences, and the development of competencies.
Cooperation with the Republic of Korea formed the cornerstone of the implementation of the Baraka Nuclear Energy Stations project, as this partnership has evolved to include new investment opportunities in international projects, including small normative reactors “SMRS”, and on the supervisory level, “nuclear censorship” is linked to its Korean counterpart with agreements covering joint inspection and capacity development, instead of holding periodic meetings to follow up developments and innovations.
As for the United States of America, the UAE has entered into a series of qualitative agreements, including a memorandum of understanding with the National Laboratory for the Development of Hydrogen, Water and Steam Production solutions at Baraka stations, as well as an agreement with “Terrabau” to develop advanced reactors, and a memo with “General Atomix”, to explore the use of advanced materials in the reactors, and it was recently announced a partnership with “General Electric Vernova “to explore the chances of publishing the” BWRX-300 “mini-reactors in the world.
Within the framework of expanding the strategic partnership network, the UAE and China continue to explore opportunities for cooperation in developing and operating nuclear energy stations in other countries, as they include areas of cooperation; The operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants, the development of high -temperature reactors with gas, nuclear fuel supplies and investment, and “nuclear control” strengthened their partnership with its counterparts through agreements that enhance cooperation in nuclear safety and nuclear security, prevent deployment and capacity building.
