"Emirates Judo" Participates in the World Championship in Hungary

Budapest on June 10 / WAM / The National Judo team will participate in the 2025 World Judo Championship, which is hosted by the Hungarian capital Budapest during the period from 12 to 20 June, with the participation of a group of the most prominent players and players of the world, as part of the rounds of the International Judo Federation for the Olympic Games “Los Angeles 2028”.
The UAE team, which will join the list of teams participating in the championship, will participate in a delegation of 8 players and one player, after the conclusion of its preparatory camp, which he held in Germany in preparation for the expected global entitlement.
The national coach, Victor Sakterov, is scheduled to be represented in the championship draw ceremony, which is held Thursday with visual communication technology from the “Bab Lazlo Hall” in Budapest, while the competitions will be officially launched on the morning of “Friday”, corresponding to June 13th.
The tournament is witnessing the participation of about 565 players and players from 93 countries, including a group of the first classists in the world, in the 38th edition of the men’s category, and the 29 women.
On the other hand, the work of the General Assembly of the International Judo Federation for the year 2025 will be launched in Budapest, at the headquarters of the International Federation, headed by Marius February, President of the Federation, with the participation of more than 150 member national federations.
The Emirates Judo Federation represents at the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Nasser Al -Tamimi, member of the National Olympic Committee, Secretary -General of the Emirates Judo Federation, Secretary of the International Judo Federation.
Marius Veriz said that the Budapest meeting represents an important platform for exchanging experiences and planning for the future of judo at the global level, noting that member federations will discuss the achievements since the last meeting in Doha in 2023, on the sidelines of the previous World Championship.
He stressed the importance of continuing to work in the spirit of one team, cooperating for positive change in societies, and building a sporting future that meets the aspirations of athletes around the world.
