Emirates Association for Nature launches a series "A start towards change"

Abu Dhabi, June 12/ WAM/ The Emirates Nature Association announced today the launch of a new summer series entitled “A start towards change”, as part of its pioneering program “Leaders of Change” with the aim of motivating society to take effective steps to protect the environment in conjunction with the general community initiatives in the UAE.
The series aims to enhance the participation of individuals, families, youth and professionals, in innovative environmental activities that combine learning, field work and interactive experience, through virtual workshops, field visits and community challenges that extend from June to August 2025.
Arabella Welling, head of the awareness department of the association, said that the real impact is only achieved through people, whether it is experienced participants or those who have inspired the community of society, pointing out that this series provides a concrete opportunity to engage in environmental work.
The series includes three interactive workshops online, including “Climate Change Simulation”, “Calculating and Reducing Environmental Fingerprint” and “Sustainable Gardens Design using Local Plants” (UAE Spots Gardens).
It also includes educational field visits to the “ISICLECEL” recycling facility, the center of the genetic resources of the plants, in addition to the “Clemt Ferresk” session on climate change, and also includes 3 influential community challenges that include documenting the stages of local seedlings growth, reviewing home plastic waste, collecting hope stories and environmental societal initiatives.
The initiative provides an exclusive opportunity to attend preliminary shows for a short documentary series entitled “Diary of Nature Preservation”, followed by dialogue sessions with filmmakers and environmental experts, and the participants who complete at least two -thirds of the program will receive a completion certificate that reflects their commitment and efforts in supporting environmental and climate issues.
This version is the third summer series launched by the “Leaders of Change” program, in which thousands of volunteers participated and achieved more than 37 thousand environmental working hours so far, which supported the association’s projects based on science and achieved the seal of the year of sustainability.
The association also announced the formation of the Community Consulting Committee of the “Leaders of Change” program, which will allow active participants the opportunity to direct and develop the program and display their initiatives, within the activities of the International Union for Nature Preservation (IUCN) to be held in Abu Dhabi.
