The festival, which is held in conjunction with the wet dementia season in the UAE, aims to highlight the position of the palm tree and its fruits in the Emirati society, as one of the components of the national identity, as well as contributing to the sustainability of the heritage and agricultural sector, enhancing awareness of the importance of agriculture in the country, supporting the owners of farms producing palm trees, fruits and local agricultural products, enhancing the food security system, highlighting the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Emirate to raise awareness By modern agriculture.
The 21st edition of the festival includes 24 competitions, including 12 competitions for wet mozzat for the categories of “Al -Dabbas, Al -Salva, Al -Fawada, Al -Jenisi, Boumaan, Al -Shishai, Al -Zamali, and the Grand August, the Al -Dhafra and Liwa Competitions for the Wet elite, the two competitions and salvation of the eye”, and 7 fruits competitions for the categories of “varied and local lemon, diversified and diversified mango, red and yellow. As for the model farm competition for the categories of “Western Lecturer, Eastern Lectures, and Al Dhafra Cities”, its prizes are 750 thousand dirhams for each of the three categories; Where the first winner gets 300 thousand dirhams, the second is 180 thousand dirhams, and the third is 120 thousand dirhams.
The festival allocated ten prizes for the most beautiful moisturizer contest, which aims to revive the heritage handicrafts based on environmentally friendly natural materials, in addition to allocating ten prizes for a creativity competition from the palm trunk that aims to encourage the recycling of the palm tree to produce art pieces.
The festival includes a number of competitions, events and heritage activities that contribute to preserving the heritage of the palm and consolidating the position of palm trees, as a symbol of the originality of the past and the good of the present, in addition to strengthening family and societal ties and preserving generations, consolidating the values ​​of cooperation and belonging to them, and preserving cultural heritage, in a way that achieves the goals of the general community in the UAE.
The festival is an important activity to support the local community and the families produced in the region, through the popular market that includes wet sale shops, dates products, and what is related to palm trees, mobile cafes, factories and nurseries, along with the wings of sponsors, supporters and participation.
