What the region is witnessing is a regional and international move to stop the escalation

The UAE emphasized that the military escalation in the region undertakes the urgent and coordinated action at the regional and international levels, to avoid the dangers of expanding the conflict and containing its repercussions on peace and security in the region, and the international scene in general.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the UAE – which has condemned the Israeli military targeting of the Israeli Republic of Iran – sees five days after this dangerous military confrontation, the necessity of finding a diplomatic approach leading the two parties to calm and end this confrontation, and prevent its slippage into unwanted and unique curves.

His Highness warned of the dangers of carrying out the unaccounted and reckless consequences that may exceed the borders of the two countries, so it is necessary to move quickly towards a clear goal, which is the immediate end of what is going on before things go out of control.

His Highness explained that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, made diplomatic and intense contacts that focused on ways to enhance efforts made to reduce escalation and avoid its breadth, out of keenness to prevail in diplomacy and dialogue as a single option away from the language of confrontation and escalation, and within comprehensive foundations that achieve stability, prosperity and justice for the peoples of the region.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan indicated that the UAE stresses, at this sensitive and dangerous stage, that the region that is the heart of the world – which has been exhausted by continuous conflicts, which does not bear more tensions and confrontations – needs today more than ever before wisdom.

His Highness added: «The UAE believes that enhancing dialogue and commitment to international laws and respecting the sovereignty of countries is the best foundations for solving current crises. The UAE urges the United Nations and the Security Council to assume their full responsibilities in preventing more escalation, taking urgent and necessary measures to cease fire and establish international peace and security.”
