The Digital Life Quality Council, headed by General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced the launch of the “Mita” company, a new feature that is the first of its kind in the region, to protect adolescents from inappropriate or unwanted content, in a manner that guarantees a safe digital experience suitable for their ages, within the initiatives that support the principles and lofty values ​​adopted by the UAE.

The team, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed that the UAE adopts the creation of an integrated digital environment that enhances the quality of the lives of individuals and societies, based on the directions of the wise leadership and its vision to build a digital advanced development model, which enables man from the tools of the future.

His Highness said that the quality of digital life in the UAE exceeds in its concept access to smart services or advanced infrastructure, to include building a safe and balanced digital culture, ensuring the protection of the generations of the present and the future and providing them with knowledge and skills that qualify them for positive interaction with changing technologies, and building a digital community on the foundations of values, awareness, and responsible citizenship, in a way that ensures that the space is Digital is a supportive environment for growth and progress and the manufacture of a global model that achieves a balance between technological progress and the quality of life.

The launch of the new digital feature, within the framework of the commitment of the UAE government and its partners on global social media platforms, to provide a safer digital environment for the teenagers category, and to enhance their privacy and the quality of their psychological and behavioral life, through a set of smart tools and settings that reduce their exposure to negative content, and achieve a safe and sustainable digital environment for all that reflects the state’s aspirations and meets the needs of future generations.

The new feature that will be applied in the Instagram platform of the company “Mita”, is to train algorithms to monitor unwanted materials for the group of teenagers, and to provide smart control tools for parents, and also provides an interactive environment that takes into account privacy and stimulates the conscious and responsible use of modern technologies, in order to enhance the quality of digital life and reduce behavioral challenges and negative content.

The event of launching the new feature witnessed the organization of a youthful episode with the participation of the team, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and the presence of Sarah Bint Youssef Al -Amiri, Minister of Education, Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, Sanaa Bint Muhammad Suhail, Family Minister, Omar Sultan Al -Ulama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Dr. Sultan Saif Al Niyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mughir Khamis Al -Khaili, Head of the Community Development Department in Abu Dhabi, Hamad Obaid Al -Mansouri, Director General of Dubai Digital, Metha Majid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Strategy and Media Policy Sector in the Emirates Media Council and Dr. Hessa Al -Kaabi, Director of the Executive Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, representatives of the Mita Company, members of the Digital Life Council, and a number of youth and social influencers.

During the event, the new digital advantage guide was also launched, which provides the tools necessary for parents to manage the discussion with their children, and explains the importance of the advantage in protecting the security of digital teenagers.

A round table was held for members of the Digital Life Quality Council, experts, decision makers and representatives of the private sector, to share opinions and develop recommendations that enhance integration between sectors, ensuring the acceleration of the adoption of innovative solutions and achieving a sustainable impact that meets the aspirations of the future.

The meeting discussed the role of governments in defining the principles of safety and privacy, identifying potential gaps and challenges in the policies of the “Instagram” platform, mechanisms for developing and improving policies concerned with digital security, ensuring the privacy of adolescents, ways to support the development of future national frameworks for policies, and enhance cooperation opportunities with the private sector to ensure that policies for future changes.

The “Digital Life Quality Council” held a specialized workshop for adolescents, parents and influencers with the aim of raising awareness of the advantage and its importance to protect the security of the digital teenagers.


The Digital Life Quality Council focuses in its duties to keep pace with the variables and follow up on developments in the digital world locally and globally, and its impact on the work of governments, in order to move in a proactive way to support and regulate digital life.

The tasks of the council include the compatibility of plans and efforts between government agencies at the level of the UAE to develop initiatives and programs that enhance the quality of digital life for all groups of society, review legislation and laws and evaluate the need to update them, and study the proposals submitted by government agencies in this field, in addition to communicating with international institutions concerned with digital life quality and the safety of digital society.
