Reem Al -Hashemi heads a high -level delegation to Ireland on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations

Abu Dhabi, June 19 / WAM / His Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation Affairs, headed a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of government agencies on an official visit to the Irish capital Dublin during the period from 12-13 June.
The visit shed light on the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Ireland, and affirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening its partnerships with Ireland in the main sectors of common concern.
Her Excellency said, commenting on the visit that “the UAE appreciates its growing partnership with Ireland, and believes in the presence of promising opportunities to enhance its cooperation in various sectors, this visit reflects our joint commitment to advance the wheel of innovation and enhance sustainable economic growth.”
At the beginning of the visit, His Excellency Al -Hashemi held talks with His Excellency Nile Richmond, Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora, focused on enhancing cooperation in the field of international development and multilateral coordination, and welcomed strategic coordination between the two countries in supporting global development priorities.
His Excellency Al -Hashemi also met with His Excellency Helen McKente, Minister of Education and Youth, where the two sides expressed their joint keenness to enhance cooperation in the areas of innovation, education and scientific research, in addition to emphasizing the depth of relations between the UAE and Ireland and the growing momentum it is witnessing.
The visit witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish the UAE -Irish Business Council with the aim of supporting cooperation in the private sector and expanding the horizons of economic relations.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by His Excellency Hamid Mohamed bin Salem, Secretary -General of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the country, Mrs. Jenny Melia, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, in the presence of His Excellency Peter Burke, Minister of Projects, Tourism and Employment, and His Excellency Reem Al Hashemi.
After the signing ceremony, His Excellency met His Excellency Burke, where the goals of the council were discussed in the various sectors, and the talks also focused on facilitating trade exchange and reviewing investment opportunities between the two sides.
In the context of the visit, her Excellency delivered a major speech at Dublin University College in which she reviewed the strategic approach that the UAE follows in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, stressing the importance of comprehensive innovation and international cooperation systems in accelerating the pace of sustainable and digital economic development.
His Excellency Reem Al Hashemi concluded her visit by expressing her appreciation to the Ireland government for its continuous and reluctant efforts in consolidating bilateral relations, and also renewed the emphasis on the UAE’s commitment to strengthening constructive dialogue and establishing long -term partnerships in all areas of common priority.
