"National Pavilion – Venice Biennial " He calls designers and artists to contribute to international architectural dialogue

Abu Dhabi, June 19/ WAM/ The national pavilion of the United Arab Emirates in the Venice Biennials launched an open invitation to submit conceptual proposals for architecture for the twentieth session of the international exhibition scheduled to be held from May to November 2027 in the Italian city of Venice.

The national pavilion targets the proposals of the values, including architects, designers, artists, historians and researchers, who worked or studied in the UAE or the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, which tells an invisible story from the UAE with a focus on highlighting the role of Biennial as a global platform for presenting ideas and exchanging knowledge.

The concepts and ideas proposed must include the subject and approach of the artistic evaluation of the exhibition through a clear message, which puts the idea within the context of local, regional and international dialogues that revolve around architecture and the environment.

The pavilion welcomes the ideas of the citizens of the United Arab Emirates and its residents in addition to the international applicants with experience and regional understanding, and can be applied individually or within a team.

The application is considered open to everyone, including residents outside the United Arab Emirates, and the teams provided must include at least one Emirati member or a resident of the United Arab Emirates.

“The architecture is a space for in -depth thinking, experiments, and critical meditation,” said Angela Mijli, executive director of the Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, noting that this open invitation is an opportunity for technical values ​​in the UAE to contribute to global architectural dialogue.

For her part, Laila bin Brik, director of the national pavilion, said: “The national pavilion of the United Arab Emirates continues its commitment to be a global platform for research and innovation and highlighting the richness of Emirati culture in international forums and every year, we expand the scope of our communication through an open international call, to attract local and global talents to contribute to international dialogue on architectural practices and its role in facing future global challenges.

The national pavilion of the United Arab Emirates will host introductory sessions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the interested applicants, and their dates will be announced soon.

The application door is closed at the middle of the night of September 30, 2025, UAE time, while the final qualifiers will be invited to submit their full proposals in the second round of the selection process.
