Ithra opens registration for the fifth edition of the Summer Youth Program

– To empower youth in the field of the cultural industry
The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), a Saudi Aramco initiative, announced the opening of registration for the Summer Youth Program in its fifth edition, starting today, April 16, until next June 30, so that young people can experience a journey behind the scenes of the cultural and creative industry by informing participants about what the sector is, expanding the horizons of knowledge about it, and gaining direct experience to work in the cultural fields and enhancing their expertise in it. The program extends for four weeks during the period from July 13 to August 6, 2026, at the center’s headquarters in Dhahran, targeting the age group between 13-16 years. This program is an extension of Ithra’s role in empowering young people at the local and international levels, and their belief in renewed youth thinking, which is translated into a system of wide-ranging global programmes, initiatives and partnerships that aim to highlight young people’s talents and develop their abilities.
Enhancing life and creative skills
The program gives participants practical experience that enhances their life and creative skills, and expands their knowledge of cultural professions. Among the most important skills acquired are: creative thinking skills, cooperation and analysis skills, and life and applied skills, in several fields, including: museums, literature and libraries, theater and performing arts, cinema and films, architecture and creative design, in addition to a group of cultural experiences in fashion, music, and culinary arts.
A Bouquet of Cultural Experiences
The program offers young people a bouquet of rich dialogues, which opens a wide door to arouse their curiosity about what is being presented, which facilitates the enhancement of research and analysis skills and the development of the skill of effective dialogue. It facilitates access and meeting with experts in the cultural sector, while the workshops enhance many skills among young people, such as communication and critical thinking skills, in addition to artistic and craft skills. Moreover, the program, through the introductory visits it organizes, enables the transfer of information and experiences and learning about the behind-the-scenes of cultural work within the center. The program also organizes field trips to cultural stations in the region, and concludes with the (Youth Craftsmanship) exhibition, which is a platform for displaying the achievements of the participants and highlighting their creative talents, in addition to highlighting the cultural development gained during the period. The program.
18 thousand educational hours
It is noteworthy that the program, since its inception in 2022, has received more than 3,500 applications to join the program, while the 140 young people who were accepted participated; A cultural journey with environmental and creative dimensions through more than 18,000 educational hours in diverse areas of learning.
