Syria announces the arrest of Wassim al -Assad in a joint security operation

Today, Saturday, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the success of a court security operation carried out in cooperation with the General Intelligence Service, which resulted in the arrest of Wassim al -Assad, who was described as one of the most wanted persons on charges related to drug trafficking and the commission of multiple crimes.

The Ministry stated, through its official platform, that the operation was carried out through a security ambush that was placed by one of the special task management teams, during which the competent authorities managed to lure the accused and arrest him without any declared confrontations.

The Ministry affirmed that this step comes within the framework of its continuous efforts to combat crime and enhance the rule of law, noting that the investigations will be completed according to the approved legal procedures.
