Developing archive and national library holdings in cooperation with "texture" and"Claredite"

Abu Dhabi, June 23 / WAM / The archive and the National Library signed an agreement with the companies “Tissue” and “Clarivit” to launch an integrated project aimed at building and developing the national library groups, as part of its mission to enrich and empower knowledge societies.

The agreement was signed at the Archives and the National Library, and includes the supply of books in multiple languages ​​and selected topics in line with the strategy of building the library’s holdings, and indexing them according to the latest international standards, in a manner that guarantees their availability quickly and efficiently across the best digital platforms.

The agreement also includes the index of the current holdings in the National Library, in preparation for its availability to benefit from it more broadly.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the Archives and the National Library, stressed that the project constitutes a strategic lever to activate the national roles assigned to the library, foremost of which is supporting, preserving and organizing national intellectual production, in addition to providing an integrated information and research environment that supports culture and decision -making.

He pointed out that the project is strengthening the national library site as a reliable source of information, and a pillar of preserving the institutional and cognitive memory of the state, as well as its role in supporting the national identity and preserving heritage, and keeping pace with the requirements of the future with confidence and efficiency.
