The condemnation of 21 accused of Dubai in the largest cases of exploitation of residence visas

The Dubai Citizenship and Residence Prosecution obtained a conviction of 25 million and 210 thousand dirhams from the Dubai Nationality and Residence Court against 21 accused of different nationalities, after being convicted of one of the largest cases related to illegal exploitation of residence visas and closing facilities without settling the status of workers.

The first public prosecutor, head of the Citizenship and Residence Prosecution, said. Ali Hamid bin Khatim, that the Public Prosecution took over the investigation of the case after the defendants and companies were arrested by the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, through monitoring and follow -up and conducting inspection operations on the headquarters of those companies, which turned out to be not in place and their purpose is only to obtain residency visas in violation of the regulations in force. Immediately after the seizure of those involved, they were presented to the Dubai Citizenship and Residence Prosecution, which initiated the investigations procedures and collected the necessary evidence, as the defendants were referred to the competent court, where the ruling was issued to be convicted.

The counselor added. Ali Hamid bin Khatim said that the investigations included 33 commercial establishments, through which 385 residency visas were exploited in an illegal way, and investigations revealed that the majority of commercial licenses of the installations involved issued with fake addresses, indicating the intention of pre -circumvention of the law, and the exploitation of the residence and work system available to achieve illegal benefits.

He stressed that “the Public Prosecution will continue its efforts with the partners to address any violation of the laws and regulations related to the law of entry and residence of foreigners and the law of regulating labor relations, in order to preserve the stability of society and the labor market.”
