The “Gulf Ministerial Council” strongly condemns the Iranian attacks that targeted one of the military bases in Qatar

The Ministerial Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf expressed its great regret and its strong condemnation of the missile attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran targeting one of the military bases in the State of Qatar, which represents an explicit, rejected and dangerous Iranian violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, its air field, the principles of good neighborhood and a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, whatever excuses and justifications.

At the end of its 49th extraordinary meeting, which was held in Doha this evening, “Tuesday”, with the participation of foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and discussed the Iranian missile attacks that targeted the State of Qatar … for its full solidarity with the State of Qatar and its full support to it in its measures that take security and stability.

The Ministerial Council praised the capabilities of the Qatari Armed Forces to confront the attack that Iran launched against the State of Qatar, stressing that the security and stability of the State of Qatar is an integral part of the security and stability of all the countries of the Cooperation Council, and that any threat to any member state is a direct threat to all the countries of the Council, and renewed its categorical rejection of any prejudice to the sovereignty of the State of Qatar or the threat of its security and stability.

The Ministerial Council stressed the necessity of adhering to the foundations and principles based on the Charter of the United Nations, the covenants of international law, the principles of good neighborhood, respect for the sovereignty of states, not to interfere in internal affairs, resolve differences by peaceful ways, and not to use and threaten them.

The Ministerial Council welcomed the announcement of US President Donald Trump regarding the ceasefire, stressing the need for the immediate stopping of all military actions, and praised the efforts of the State of Qatar to mediate the ceasefire, to maintain the security and stability of the region, and all parties made joint efforts to seize the ceasefire to calm down and take diplomacy as an effective way to settle conflicts, and to show the utmost restraint and spare the region and its peoples the risks of wars, Pushing towards a serious return to negotiations leads to sustainable solutions, because of the opportunities that the moment represents to split a new path towards a positive future for the region, stressing its readiness to support all efforts in this regard.
The council praised the success of Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, in achieving a ceasefire between Iran and Israel and inviting him to make efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

The Ministerial Council condemned the continuation of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the killing of civilians, confirming its rejection of the military escalation of the occupation authorities in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, the expansion of the occupation of large parts of the Strip, the prevention of the relevant international organizations from delivering humanitarian aid and the operation of medical facilities, and stressed the need to resume negotiations to reach a ceasefire and provide aid to civilians.

The Ministerial Council noted what included the vision of the Cooperation Council for Regional Security, which was announced in March 2024, regarding the priority of the path of dialogue and diplomacy for relations between countries, and that this path is the only way to overcome the current crises and maintain the security of the region and the peace of its peoples, stressing that any escalation would undermine regional security, and drag the region to serious paths that will have catastrophic repercussions on international peace and security.

The Ministerial Council praised the role of the Sultanate of Oman in the American -Iranian negotiations on the nuclear file, and the price of the role of the State of Qatar, the United States and other countries that contributed to calm, and stressed the importance of continuing active mediation efforts.

The Ministerial Council stressed the importance of preserving air and maritime security and water corridors in the region, and addressing activities that threaten the security and stability of the region and the world, including targeting commercial ships, threatening maritime navigation lines and international trade, and oil installations in the GCC countries, and affirmed the commitment and keenness of the Gulf Cooperation Council to stabilize global energy markets.
