Abu Dhabi, June 25 / WAM / The Ministry of Culture announced the launch of the nineteenth session of the “Barda Award”, which is centered this year on the topic of “cohesion and social cohesion” in line with the UAE’s announcement of the year of society, and to consolidate the values ​​of the noble prophetic biography, in order to build a coherent society that prevails in tolerance and coexistence.

The Barda Award is given to the generous sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, who emphasized that this award reflects the pioneering role that the UAE plays in caring for and supporting Islamic arts based on its strategy aimed at introducing international societies to these arts, preserving the artistic heritage of Islamic civilization, and highlighting the bright image of Islamic culture based on tolerance and love.

For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khaled Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, said that the Barda Award embodies the vision of the United Arab Emirates in promoting common human values, and in consolidating the role of Islamic arts as a bridge for dialogue and cultural convergence between nations and peoples, indicating that art is a global language capable of expressing the essence of the values ​​that bring us together.

His Excellency emphasized that Islamic arts contribute to spreading the message of tolerance and coexistence, and revives a rich heritage from which we are inspired by the crossing of harmony and harmony, calling on His Excellency all the creators from all over the Islamic world to participate in this session with works that reflect the beauty of Islamic art and its spirit.

The prize is inspired by this session from Surat Al -Hujurat verse 13: O people, we created you from the remembrance and the female, and we have made you people and the tribes of the people. I fear you ۚ God is an expert knowledge, as it is also inspired by the verses of the poem of the cold, “Muhammad is the master of the universe and the heavens .. and the two teams are Arabs and from Ajam.”

The award is divided into three main branches, namely the art of Arabic calligraphy (traditional, contemporary, tipographic design), Arabic poetry (eloquent, Nabati, and free), and decoration (traditional, contemporary).

The Ministry of Culture revealed the allocation of prizes of 210 thousand dirhams for the first three -place winners in both the eloquent and Nabati poetry categories, and 160 thousand dirhams for the first three winners in the free poetry category.

In the field of Arabic calligraphy, the Ministry has allocated prizes worth 210 thousand dirhams for the first five winners in both the traditional and contemporary Arabic calligraphy categories, in addition to 160 thousand dirhams for the first three winners in the category of Tipographic design.

In the field of decoration, the Ministry has allocated prizes of 210 thousand dirhams for the first five centers in the traditional decoration category, and 160 thousand dirhams for the first three places in the contemporary decoration category.

The Barda Award aims to shed light on the fragrant biography of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his unique personality by celebrating Islamic arts as an entrance to cultural communication with the world and as part of the human heritage, highlighting the values ​​and principles of tolerance by celebrating the aesthetics of Islamic arts, and promoting innovation and creative spirit by motivating the generations arising to practice traditional Islamic art In a way that reflects the cultural and intellectual diversity in the Islamic world, support the creative movement and attract young and emerging talents.

Since its launch in 2004 to celebrate the Prophet’s birthday, the Barda Award has honored more than 390 talents from different countries of the world, including poets and artists, and two plans specializing in Islamic arts, until the award became an international Emirati platform that celebrates this ancient art and the aesthetics of the rich Arabic language, and enhances the role of the UAE in caring for creativity and preserving the artistic heritage of Islamic civilization, and promoting the distinguished artwork of the audience worldwide.

Those wishing to participate can register on the award site until September 30.

The Ministry of Culture will start receiving the artworks of the line and decoration categories from this date to October 13.
