Hospitality .. a vital sector that embraces the ambition of the Emirati cadres with the support of "Compete"

Abu Dhabi, June 28 / WAM / The hospitality sector in the UAE is witnessing an accelerated growth in the numbers of Emirati cadres working in it, in light of the support of good leadership and specific Emiratization programs, led by the “Nafs” program, which succeeded in creating an environment that stimulates the involvement of citizens in various vital economic sectors, including tourism and hospitality.
This approach is embodied in leading initiatives such as the “Professional Satisfaction in the Hospitality Sector” program, which was launched in cooperation between the Dubai Tourism College, “Enforcement” and the Marriott International Group, and giving Emiratis the opportunity to acquire knowledge and scientific and practical skills required in the field of hospitality and tourism.
The program is one of the most prominent national models for the qualification of Emirati youth by combining theoretical study and practical training in hotel work sites, according to the best international practices, as it aims to provide participants with advanced professional skills, and to introduce them to the importance of the hospitality sector in supporting the national economy, and provides an opportunity to employ directly at the end of its duration, within a professional environment that embraces competencies and supports the professional growth and development paths of citizens in The private sector.
According to the Dubai Tourism College, the program focuses on developing customer service skills as an essential element in providing a distinguished hospitality experience, in addition to enabling the participants to identify the most prominent operational operations in hotels such as reception, sales, room service, and others, as well as promoting cultural and social awareness in various work environments.
The two -year program includes 40% of theoretical education in the college halls, and 60% of practical training within international hotel facilities, and the participants receive a certified vocational diploma in hospitality, in addition to a monthly work contract and a monthly salary throughout the training period, and the tuition fees are completely covered by the “Nafs” program and participating hotels.
The second batch of the program that begins next October this year targets the training of 20 citizens and citizens, as it is required to join the program to be the applicant from the citizens of the UAE, at the age of 18 years and over, and has good communication skills and English language, attention, passion and love of learning to work in the hospitality sector, and registration in the Nafs platform.
Dhiyab Al -Nuaimi, one of the enrolled in the professional disciple program – a diploma in hospitality, stressed that the program provided him with practical and direct training from the sector experts, which strengthened his confidence and skills, pointing out that the start of citizens ’entry into the sector was an additional motivation for it, and urged young people to take advantage of the promising opportunities to build a professional future in the field of hospitality and tourism.
A number of citizens who joined the sector have proven support from “competencies” their worth in their job sites, stressing the importance of the training programs they received in developing their skills and enhancing their presence in the sector, and that the “Nafs” program was a basic pillar in facilitating their arrival to leadership positions.
Sarah Saeed, who spent seven years in the field, confirms that institutional support made the private sector an attractive and stable choice, while Al -Mansouri, who moved from an auxiliary role to an executive position within a short period and is still a university student, indicated that the sector has become more open to young competencies and provides an environment that stimulates rapid growth.
Ahmed Al -Balushi, who works in customer service, stressed that intense training since the first day enabled him to acquire comprehensive skills in communication, solving problems and use reservation systems.
