Dubai Roads announces the Al -Safa Street development project from its intersection with Sheikh Zayed Street to Al Wasl Street

The Roads and Communications Authority announced the Al -Safa Street development project, from its intersection with Sheikh Zayed Street to Al -Wasl Street, with a length of 1500 meters, and includes the implementation of two bridges and two tunnels with a total length of 3120 meters and the expansion of surface roads and improvement A vehicle per hour in both directions.
Matar Al -Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, said: Residential, commercial, hotels and luxury restaurants, as well as the city center, regions and development projects adjacent to the Financial Center Street, and its population is estimated at more than a million people. In this project, it is taken into account the focus on creative and aesthetic elements, and includes developing special paths for pedestrians, bicycles and urban areas to enhance community communication, in addition to providing a biical urban environment and cosmetic agriculture.
Jisran and tunnel
Al -Tayer added: “The project includes the development of Al -Safa Street from its intersection with Sheikh Zayed Street, until its intersection with Al -Wasl, and the implementation of two bridges. The financial center with a capacity of two tracks, with a length of 360 meters, and a capacity of 2,800 vehicles per hour, indicating that the project also includes the implementation of the first tunnels for those coming from Sheikh Zayed streets and the financial center, towards Al Wasl Street with a capacity of two tracks, a length of 1005 meters, and a capacity of 3200 vehicles per hour, while the second tunnel is at the intersection of Al Wasl Street with Al -Safa Street, with a length of 750 meters, and a capacity Two tracks in each direction, and its absorptive capacity is estimated at about 6,400 vehicles per hour in both directions, and the project includes the expansion of the street from three tracks in each direction (governed by light signals), to four tracks in each direction, including two paths with free traffic movement, and two paths governed by light signals, as well Lighting systems, guidance plates, the rainwater drainage network, and the protection and transfer of current services, stressing that the project will contribute when completing the flow of traffic coming from the upper path of the financial center, and Sheikh Zayed Street, towards Al -Safa Street to Al -Wasl Street, and vice versa, and will enhance the link between a number of vital roads in the region, in addition to raising the level of traffic safety.
A comprehensive plan
The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors explained that the Al -Safa Street development project comes as a continuation of the comprehensive plan developed by the authority to develop the road network in the region, and includes the development of Al -Wasl Street from its intersection with Umm Suqeim Street to its intersection with the second street of December, with a length of 15 km, and the development of Umm Saqim Street from its intersection with Jumeirah Street to Al -Khail Street with a length of 6 km.
The Al Wasl Street project includes the development of six intersections by conducting improvements at one intersection, implementing five tunnels with a length of 3850 meters, expanding the street from two tracks in each direction to three paths in each direction, and the project contributes to reducing the flight time along Al -Wasl Street by 50%, and increasing the capacity of 8,000 vehicles per hour in both directions to 12,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.
The Umm Suqeim Street project includes the development of six intersections on Umm Suqeim Street, with Jumeirah Street, Al Wasl Street, Sheikh Zayed Street, Al -Khail First Street, Al -Asayel Street and Al Khail Street, and includes the implementation of four bridges, three tunnels with a total length of 4100 meters, and contributes to enhancing the link between four strategic axes in the Emirate of Dubai, are: Sheikh Zayed Street, Al Khail Street, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street and Emirates Street, and increase the capacity of the street to reach 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, achieving the flow of traffic, and reducing the flight time in the stretch parting of Jumeirah and Horses, from 20 minutes to 6 minutes.
