The Philippine President begins a visit to America July 20

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcus Junior plans to visit the United States from 20 to 22 July, according to what the Foreign Ministry announced yesterday.

Junior will meet his American counterpart Donald Trump, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Beit Higseth to discuss “economic and defensive ties”, according to the Philippine Ambassador in Washington, Jose Manuel Romwalz.

This visit comes as the Philippines, like other countries, face American customs increases by 20%.

Between Manila and Washington, a mutual defense agreement dating back to 1951, where countries regularly implement military exercises in the South China Sea.
