Belgian trade deficit continues as a result of low imports and exports

Brussels on July 16 / WAM / Data published by the Belgian National Bank in Brussels showed that Belgium’s foreign trade balance is still negative; The imports between March and May decreased by 4.2%, while exports decreased by 2.8%.
The decrease in exports is mainly due to the low prices in the energy sector, which contributed a negative 2.5% to the general decline.
This effect is largely due to price changes, as export sizes have been relatively stable.
Belgian exports to the United States decreased by 9.8%, imports increased by 11.6%, which the bank attributed to the historically low value of the dollar, which made American products accessible to Belgian importers.
