Huawei leads the smart phone market in China for the first time in 4 years

Huawei technological company exported the smart phone market in China during the second quarter of the year, for the first time in more than four years, bypassing the American company “Apple” and its local competitors such as “Xiaomi”, according to the American company “IDC”.
A report by “IDC” said that “Huawei” delivered 12.5 million phones in China during this quarter, equivalent to a market share of 18.1 percent.
Huawei’s recovery in China comes after the company faced a series of restrictions on exports imposed by the United States, a ban in Western countries, and an investigation into a corruption case in Belgium.
After six quarters of growth, the Chinese market shrinkled by 4 percent on an annual basis, as total devices in the market reached 69 million.
“Despite the recent commercial truce between the United States and China, the chief analyst at the” IDC “analyst, Arthur Gu
“This situation indicates that a significant increase in the demand for smartphones will be unlikely, and the market will have to adapt to a more complex environment in the second half of the year,” he added.
According to official figures, the Chinese economy witnessed a growth of 5.2 percent in the second quarter, despite the commercial confrontation launched by US President Donald Trump.
Huawei has become the focus of a violent struggle between the two largest economic powers in the world after Washington indicated that Beijing may use its espionage equipment, which the company denies.
Since 2019, the sanctions have reduced the company’s ability to reach manufactured technologies in the United States, forcing it to create its own components.
Apple has a decrease in iPhone sales in China, and last year it lost its position as the best -selling brand for smartphones in the country against local competitors. In the IDC report, Apple ranked fifth on the list, retaining a 13.9 percent stake in the smart phone market in China.
