US President Donald Trump arrived in Scotland on Friday for a long weekend that is expected to combine golf, diplomacy and commercial negotiations, amid strict security measures in anticipation of protests.
The presidential plane landed at Brestoic Airport, near Glasgow, at about eight thirty in the evening (19,30 GMT). It is scheduled to move to Ternbury, one of the golf resort in Scotland owned by a family company run by his children.

It is expected to meet before his return to Washington with British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer, in a meeting far from golf fields that have not been nominated for him, as unlike the 79 -year -old Republican President, it is not known that Starmer loves this sport.
In May, the United States and Britain announced the access to a trade agreement, but London is still awaiting Trump’s decisions.

Permanent discounts

But before leaving Washington, it seemed to disappoint Britain’s hopes for permanent discounts in customs duties on steel and aluminum. London has yet been exempt from 50% customs duties applied to metal imports to the United States.
“If I do so for a country, I must do this for everyone,” Donald Trump said when a journalist asked him about granting a “maneuvering field” to the United Kingdom.

The war in Gaza

The war in the Gaza Strip is likely to be a subject of discussion as well, after more than 220 deputies in the British Parliament called for the French President Emmanuel Macron to recognize the State of Palestine.

Trump confirmed to reporters after descending from the plane that he had “not informed him at all” that his name was listed in the court documents that led to the accusation in 2019 for two IPs of the trafficking of minors.
Some Trump supporters carry the president’s lack of transparency in this issue centered on a prominent velvet character in New York, which was gathered by friendship with the Republican billionaire and impossible a symbol of a taller elite in the eyes of a large part of the “Maga” stream relative to the Trump brief slogan “to make America a great again.”

Some population resentment

Conflict

Although Donald Trump no longer holds legally to the management of the family holding company, his critics accuse him of conflicting multiple interests, as Trump takes advantage of his assumption of the presidency for private family investments, especially abroad.
The “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington” organized 21 real estate projects for the Trump family abroad in May, during the second presidential term of the Republican billionaire.
She pointed out that the law of ethics published by the “Trump Organization” in January does not prohibit the launch of new projects abroad with private parties, knowing that the Foundation had froze these initiatives during the first presidential term of Trump between 2017 and 2021.
