"Dubai Corporation" Supports the prosperity of marine life and the environmental system in the water of the emirate

Dubai, July 28 / WAM / Dubai Corporation, one of the largest leading global initiatives for the development of marine reefs, revealed remarkable progress in strengthening the naval system of the emirate.

The new underwater videos on the initial study site showed the prosperity of the marine environment, with scenes that reflect the growth of fish and habitats in the areas surrounding the sea reef units.
The surveys – made on the site revealed a significant increase in the number of 15 species of local fish, including the hashtags, Hamour, and the “paracuda”, with preliminary indicators of the possibility of enhancing marine biological diversity by 10% and about eight times the vital mass of fish, highlighting the positive impact of the initiative on the local environmental system.
Work continues within the “Restoration of Maritime Habitos” program, which represents the first pillar of the initiative, to prepare and install 20,000 units of marine reefs on an area of 600 square kilometers in the regional waters of the emirate by 2027, which provides the ideal conditions for the prosperity of the marine environmental system during the coming years.

The program witnessed since its inception in 2024 the completion of the processing of 39% of the total marine reef units designed for this purpose, in addition to installing 3660 units.
The program contributes to supporting the second pillar, which is ‘rehabilitation of marine life’, and the third pillar of ‘research support in the field of preserving the marine environment’, as well as achieving a comprehensive vision to preserve the marine environment and achieve sustainability.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, launched the Dubai Corporation, a sustainable initiative from “Dubai” and represents a successful model for cooperation between partners in the public and private sectors.
The list of strategic partners of the initiative includes the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority, DDDDDD, Dubai Chambers, Nakheel, affiliated to Dubai Holding Real Estate, Ports, Customs, Free Zone, and Emirates Airlines.
These parties are working to advance the wheel of Dubai’s joint sustainability goals, and support many of the United Nations goals for sustainable development, including target 13 “climate work”, goal 14 “life underwater”, and goal 17 “activating partnerships”.
