Dubai Municipality is implemented 34,000 supervisory visits to ensure food safety during the first half

Dubai Municipality announced the outcome of its supervisory and inspection efforts in the field of food safety during the first half of this year 2025, as it carried out about 34,700 inspection visits to food institutions throughout the emirate, with the aim of ensuring their commitment to health standards and approved requirements, which reflects its active role in securing safe and healthy food for society.

These continuous efforts are an affirmation of the Dubai Municipality’s continuous commitment to maintaining the health and safety of society and ensuring the highest food quality standards, in order to support the provision of a sustainable and integrated diet, which contributes to enhancing the luxury of living for the residents and visitors of the Emirate of Dubai, and makes Dubai a pioneering, more sustainable and quality city.

During the first half of the year 2025, the Dubai Food Sector witnessed exceptional growth, with the opening of about 2,336 new food institutions, to enhance Dubai’s position as a leading destination to attract investments in the food and hospitality sector. About 173,775 food shipments were also released through the emirate’s outlets, with a total weight of 4.9 million tons of food, highlighting the role of Dubai as a pivotal center in the regionally and globally.

In addition, the Dubai Municipality recorded the release of 940,000 food items after conducting the necessary checks, with 77,700 new food products registered in the approved databases, which reflects the efficiency and flexibility of the food registration system and ensuring their compatibility with food safety standards.
Enhancing food safety and quality of life

In this context, the director of the Food Safety Department in Dubai Municipality, Dr. Sultan Al -Taher, stressed that maintaining the health and safety of food is one of the pillars of promoting the quality of life in the emirate. He said: “These achievements prove the continuous efforts of the Dubai Municipality in building an integrated and sustainable diet, which supports the welfare and quality of the life of the population and visitors and enhances their confidence in the quality of food products available in the emirate’s markets. We continue to work to ensure the application of the highest food safety standards, and to provide an integrated model for Dubai’s leadership in the field of food control regionally and globally.”
