The new guide is obligated, each request provider, to provide separate engineering plans that include three to six documents according to the nature of the project, namely: the general site scheme, the architectural scheme and the safety of lives, extinguishing systems, alarm system, emergency lighting systems and guidelines, ventilation and smoke control systems if found.

Each file in the name of the plan and its type and attached to the name of the project must be named, with clarification of the number and date of the version, and the presentation of a paper and electronic version in PDF format and a suitable fee.
The guide allowed the merging of some plans in the absence of an automatic spray system, as the extinguishing can be combined with the architect, or emergency lighting with the warning, with a commitment to attach a comprehensive technical report that explains the technical details of the project accurately.

Exact requirements for the general site scheme

The evidence stressed that the general site includes the paths of concentration of civil defense cars and equipment, with clarification of displaying roads, gates, closed ends and maneuvering points, in addition to documenting the places of fire taps, with departments that show the extent of their coverage according to the requirements of the code, determining the gathering points, and civil defense links and their details in the illustration.
The technical report, accompanying the scheme, called for determining the loads required for emergency paths, pressure and flow data and the results of hydraulic accounts for fire tannars.

Engineering offices tasks

The General Directorate of Civil Defense affirmed that the Saudi construction code is the primary reference, and that the full responsibility lies with the engineering office approved in the inclusion of all requirements in the design documents and their conformity with the code and regulations, warning that the presence of any violation or technical defect will expose the office to regular procedures.

She explained that the safety officer from the Civil Defense has the authority to request amendments to the report within the limits of the tasks of the consulting office, and the Directorate has the right to update the guide whenever the need arises.

Design requirements

The guide included organizing the submission of plans during the design phase, where he stressed the necessity of submitting detailed technical reports, protection strategies, dangers and quantities tables, as well as submitting a report with safety requirements in the construction phase, and mobilizing the three models electronically without manually adjusting with documentation of the engineering office data.
It is required to submit an supervision contract with an accredited office before issuing the construction license, with the activity linking to the license, and retaining a copy of the plans within the facility, and the consultant office must save an electronic copy of it, and in the event of amending the plans, it must be re -uploaded with the same number after adding or deleting any elements.
