Manchester United captain saves a man from a suicide attempt in Ecuador

Antonio Valencia, the former captain of Manchester United and the Ecuador team, succeeded in saving a man who was about to commit suicide in his country, Ecuador, in an influential humanitarian position.

Valencia recounted the details of the incident through his account on “Instagram”, explaining that he was driving his car on one of the bridges when he grabbed a man trying to end his life, to stop his car immediately and intervene to save him.

He said: “I got off the car, thank God, that he got to know me, I tried to tell him some encouraging words.”

Valencia stressed that the situation was extremely difficult, indicating that the man’s family intervened in the last moments helped him prevent him from committing suicide: “Fortunately, his family arrived at the appropriate time, and changed his decision.”

The former Commander of the Red Devils concluded his message by saying: “Please take care of yourselves, your psychological health, and your hearts. Life is very fragile.”

It is noteworthy that Valencia wore the Manchester United shirt between 2009 and 2019, and achieved with him the Premier League title twice, along with the European League title, before he retired from football in 2021
