Iraq begins the implementation of the first phase of the Baiji Electricity Station

Baghdad on August 2 / WAM / The Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shi’a Al -Sudani, launched today, Saturday, the executive work of the first stage of the second Big Battle Power Station in Salah al -Din Governorate, a strategic project that will strengthen the national network with a total capacity of 1014 MW.

The Iraqi News Agency quoted the Sudanese as saying during the launch of the project that the government continues its efforts to develop the energy file, considering it a “base for any comprehensive development plan”, and explained that the government monitored the financial allocations necessary to develop all sectors of production, transport and distribution to improve energy production throughout the country.

According to a statement by the Media Office of the Prime Minister, the project will be implemented by a coalition that includes the German “Siemens” energy companies and the Chinese “CSCEC”, where the contract includes the rehabilitation of 6 gas generating units, and the first two service units are scheduled to enter within 27 months, provided that the rest of the units followed successively.

The project also includes the establishment of new networks for the drainage of loads and the supply of the national network with 6 voltage lines of 400 km, in addition to 16 new lines with a effort of 132 km to serve Salah al -Din Governorate in particular.
