2.9 billion dirhams profits "Dubai Electricity" During the first half

Dubai, August 8/ WAM/ Dubai Electricity and Water Authority achieved a growth in its profits by 13.2 % during the first half of 2025, to reach 2.9 billion dirhams, while its revenues rose to 14.6 billion dirhams, with a growth of 6.9 %.
The total profits before calculating interest, taxes, depreciation, and consumption of debt “before deductions” reached 7 billion dirhams, while operating profits recorded 3.7 billion dirhams.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, expressed his pride in achieving the authority for the strongest and semi -annual financial results in its history, indicating that these results reflect the continuous growth in demand, efficiency of implementation, and operational excellence that the authority is adopting.
His Excellency pointed out that the authority’s board of directors approved the distribution of profits of 3.1 billion dirhams for the first half of 2025, to be spent in October 2025, noting that the authority has invested more than 230 billion dirhams so far in developing infrastructure, in the context of its keenness to sustainability and enhance the flexibility of the business model and achieve strong returns.
He said: “We look forward to continuing to achieve added value to the various parties concerned, based on the economic growth in Dubai, and the strength of our business model, in addition to the distinguished operational results that put the authority in the forefront of the sector globally.”
In the second quarter of 2025, the authority recorded an increase in the total energy production, including energy from the projects of the independent product, to reach a record level of 16.9 Tira, an hour, an increase of 10.88% compared to 15.3 Tira hours in the second quarter of 2024.
The Authority produced 3.30 Tira, an hour of clean energy during this quarter, which represents 19.46% of the total energy produced in the second quarter of 2025.
The authority confirms its commitment to the use of clean energy to maintain a sustainable mixture of obstetrics to meet the growing demand constantly.
The Authority also produced 2.18 hours of an hour from a stat for energy production, and 11.46 tra, an hour from other production stations during the second quarter of 2025.
The authority recorded an increase of 2.95% in the atomic demand for energy compared to the second quarter of 2024, to 10,545 GB.
The total production of desalinated water increased during the second quarter of 2025 by 9.55% compared to the previous year, reaching a record level of 40.78 billion gallons.
The peak of daily demand for desalinated water reached 475 million gallons, an increase of 5.87% over the same period last year.
By the end of the second quarter of 2025, the number of customer accounts reached 1,292,487 accounts, which represents an increase of 4.81% in the number of customer accounts compared to the same period last year.
During the second quarter, two stations were operated with a voltage of 132 km and 483 stations with 11 kg voltage, and the total production capacity of electricity reached 17,979 GB, including 3,860 GB of renewable energy sources.
