Philip Lazarini, Commissioner -General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that “The Israeli army continues to silence the votes reported in Gaza.”

Lazarini, in a post on X, expressed his dismay from the killing of a number of journalists in Gaza City. He said that more than two hundred Palestinian journalists have been killed, since the beginning of the war, “with complete impunity.”

Lazarini added that Israel also prohibits international journalists in Gaza to cover events independently since the war erupted nearly two years ago.

He said: “Journalists must be protected, and the international media must enter Gaza to support the heroic work of their Palestinian colleagues. This is the only way to confront misinformation and prevent doubts about the size of the atrocities committed in Gaza.”
