Reducing interest rates in Australia by 25 basis points

Canberra on August 12/ WAM/ The Australian Central Reserve Bank announced today, Tuesday, the reduction of the main interest rates by 25 basis points, for the third time during the current year.

The central bank’s decision reduced the interest rate from 3.85%to 3.6%, and during May 2025 the bank reduced it from 4.1%to 3.85%, after it had reduced it in February 2025 for the first time since October 2020 to 4.35%, and with the last reduction of interest today it reached its lowest level since March 2023.
