Etihad Airways exceeds 20 million passengers in 12 months

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, announced a historic achievement by exceeding the barrier of 20 million passengers within 12 months circulating for the first time in its history, stressing the strong and sustainable growth in its operations.

This achievement has supported the exceptional performance numbers from the beginning of 2025 until the end of July, as the company received 12.2 million passengers, which represents a 17 % increase over the same period of the year 2024, while maintaining an important load rate of 88 % compared to 86 % in the past year.

During the month of July, Etihad welcomed about 2 million passengers, a growth of 19 % for the same period last year, when it transferred 1.7 million guests, and this continuous growth reflects the strategic expansion of the company and its strong position in the market, and the rate of passenger load increased to 90 %, compared to 89 % in July 2024, which enhances the ability of Etihad Air to improve its capacity while maintaining high demand.

The Flotilla Fleet is currently 111 aircraft, which supports its growing network from 81 destinations for passengers, up from 76 destinations in the previous year, as these numbers highlight the continued investment of the company in developing the fleet and lines.

Anton and Rivis, CEO of Etihad Aviation, attributed this growth to the confidence that customers put in the company’s services and the strength of its network, noting that continuous growth reflects the success of the full commitment to achieving the goal of increasing the number of destinations globally.

He explained that the company continues to work to increase its fleet from the planes, as it received in July the first Airbus A321LR plane in the category of long-range, and five new aircraft joined the union in addition to two Boeing 787s aircraft, Airbus A350-1000 and Airbus A320.
