Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed adopts two strategies for entrepreneurship and attracting investment in the villages of the Emirates

ABU DHABI, 13 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, approved the National Strategy for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises in the Emirates’ Villages, and the Strategy for Attracting Investment, with the aim of promoting paths of sustainable economic development in rural areas, and developing a business environment supportive of growth and innovation.

This came while His Highness chaired the meeting of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, where strategic directions in the economic, tourism, societal and cultural fields were reviewed.

The National Strategy for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises in Emirati Villages, which came in a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, aims to build a diversified and self-sufficient local economy in the villages, and to empower villagers to become successful entrepreneurs capable of accessing national and global markets, thus enhancing the presence of the Emirati identity in products and services.

The investment attraction strategy aims to attract more than one billion dirhams of investments to the villages of the Emirates, by developing them and turning them into attractive destinations for tourism and investment, through three vital sectors, including tourism and hospitality, development in the industrial sector, and real estate, which contributes to providing new job opportunities for the sons and daughters of the Emirates, and supporting development in rural areas.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was briefed on the council’s achievements, projects and initiatives in supporting youth and senior citizens, family cohesion, sports, health and the Emirates councils.

His Highness said: In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Court, the Emirates Council for Balanced Development is keen to continue achieving comprehensive and sustainable development in all the emirates of the country, in a way that ensures social stability for citizens and enhances the quality of life in the UAE society.

His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of concerted efforts of government and private agencies to support development paths in villages and rural areas and to empower the people of the UAE, especially the youth, to be an essential part of the development process.

For his part, His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, said: The Emirates Council for Balanced Development, headed by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, continues its pivotal role through its pioneering initiatives and projects in contributing to enhancing the comprehensive economic growth of the country, and enabling entrepreneurs to contribute to advancing economic and social development paths, in line with the national campaign (the UAE is the Entrepreneurial Capital of the World) aimed at consolidating the country’s position. As a global destination for entrepreneurial projects, and creating an attractive environment for investments.
