House of wisdom reviews an initiative "Wisdom wardrobe" At the World Library Conference in Kazakhstan

Astana on August 22 / WAM / The “House of Wisdom” participated in the Emirate of Sharjah in the work of the 89th session of the International Conference on Libraries and Information (IVla 2025), organized by the International Federation of Associations and Institutions of Library (IVla) in the Kazakh capital, Astana, from August 18 to August, under the slogan “Knowledge Union, Future Building”, with the participation of more than 3500 experts and specialists from 120 countries.

The delegation of the “House of Wisdom”, during the session of “Arab Office” organized by the regional office of Vala for the Middle East and North Africa region, reviewed the “Treasury of Wisdom” project, which embodies one of the leading cognitive initiatives in the Emirate of Sharjah, and which is emanating from the gift of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for Professor Richard Intighane, which includes, which includes More than 12 thousand books and a rare publication in the history of Islamic art and architecture in more than ten languages.

Marwa Al -Aqoubi, Executive Director of the House of Al -Hikma, explained that the project expanded to include the group’s digitization and their availability through digital platforms, as well as organizing specialized exhibitions entitled “Chapters of Islamic Art”, and the establishment of cognitive treasures in a number of cultural institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, which contributes to redefining the role of libraries as vital platforms for the production and circulation of knowledge.

During the session of the conference’s general assembly, Vicky McDonald, President of the International Library Federation, expressed her appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, praising his pioneering role in supporting libraries and promoting culture, confirming the global position that the emirate occupies in the field of knowledge.

The Beit Al -Hikma delegation also visited a number of cultural institutions in Kazakhstan, including the National Archives, the National Museum, the Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books, as it was seen on the most prominent practices in preserving heritage and documenting knowledge, in a way that enhances cultural cooperation between Sharjah and Astana.

Al -Aqoubi stressed, in her statements on the sidelines of the conference, that the participation of the House of Wisdom comes as an embodiment of the Sharjah cultural message, and as an extension of its role in enhancing the status of libraries as centers of cultural interaction and sustainable knowledge development, noting that the presence of this global forum reflects the emirate’s vision in building bridges of dialogue and openness through knowledge.
