The Israeli army acknowledged the bombing of the surrounding of Nasser Hospital, and said that the Chief of the General Staff ordered an investigation.

The Israeli army said in a statement that it regretted the damage “without those involved” in the fighting, and that it does not target journalists.

For its part, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemned the two raids, and said that Israel is “an open war on the free media to intimidate journalists, and prevent them from performing their professional mission in exposing its crimes before the world.”

The union data indicates that more than 240 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israeli fire in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

For its part, the Committee for Protection of Journalists called on “the international community to hold Israel accountable for its continuous illegal attacks on the press.” The committee estimated that the number of journalists and media workers who have been killed since the beginning of the war amounted to 197 people, including 189 Palestinians in Gaza.
