"Abu Dhabi Ports" Its operations are expanded in Angola

Abu Dhabi, August 26/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Ports Group announced today, the signing of an agreement to develop a unified digital window for trade and logistical services, with the Angolan Logistics and Shipping Authority (Akla), in addition to buying 30 trucks and 45 new trailers, with a value of up to 6 million US dollars, to support its logistical operations in Angola, through the company “Nawatom Universes For logistics services.

The group also concluded five initial agreements with governmental and private bodies in Angola to explore opportunities to enhance cooperation in the fields of marine services and training, logistical services, air shipping handles, and health care.

The agreements were signed by His Excellency Ricardo Vegas de Abraio, Angolan Minister of Transport, and Mohamed Aydah Al -Menhali, Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group.

The move comes within the framework of the continuous expansion of the group’s activities in Angola, as it announced earlier its commitment to allocate investments of up to $ 250 million until 2026, through which the “Nawatom Ports – Luanda Station” is expanded and expanded.

His Excellency Ricardo Vegas de Abreio expressed his aspiration through this agreement to strengthen relations with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, one of the most prominent investors in Angola and the strategic partner in the Angola National Growth career.

For his part, Captain Mohamed Jumaa Al Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said that the signing of these agreements comes within the framework of the group’s contribution to efforts to develop the Angolan capital Landa to become a major center to supply trade in the West Africa region.

It is noteworthy that the conclusion of the unified digital window agreement for trade and logistical services, and the purchase of the truck fleet, would enhance the group’s presence in Angola, especially in the port of Luanda, which handles about 76% of containers and public goods in Angola, and also provides marine access to neighboring non -coastal countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia.

The Nawatom Ports Station of the Nawatom Ports is a major starting point for the company “Nawarum Unkargaz Logistics Services”, a 90% joint project for the group, in partnership with the local Unicagaz, which runs one of the latest land transport fleets in Africa.

The joining of the new trucks and trailers represents an increase in the convergence of weakness in the Nawarum Unkazz truck fleet of the group, which raises the volume of operations to 70 trucks and 95 trailers.
On the other hand, the “technology clip” will perform the digital arm of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, in cooperation with the Angolan Logistics and Shipping Authority “Akla”, the government agency responsible for organizing logistical activities in Angola, developing the unified digital “Jules” platform for trade and logistical services, which will become the modern and integrated system for digitizing trade in Angola.

The “Gul” platform will simplify trade and customs procedures in Angola, which is a promising commercial center in the central West Africa region, while the platform will be developed in three stages within a three -year agreement.

With the unification of the trade movement by land, sea and air, the “Gul” platform will integrate and simplify the current platforms, including the national network of logistical platforms, the unified window of the ports, and the unified window of foreign trade, with the customs administration system.

The “Gul” platform will also be developed by taking advantage of the experiences and internal competencies that the group possesses in developing platforms, which it strengthened by its acquisition of both T -Tech, which specializes in developing and using technology to improve customs and borders, and “Dubai Technology”, which specializes in developing trade and transport solutions.

A framework agreement was signed with the Angolan Ministry of Transport, according to which cooperation opportunities are discussed to establish a naval academy in Angola, provide maritime and marine transport services, operate marine stations, and logistical services platforms.

A memorandum of understanding has also been signed with the National Marine Agency in Angola, through which to work on the establishment of a national naval academy, in addition to the group’s cooperation with “Cesal Maritima SA”, the Angolan Maritime Services Company, to discuss ways to cooperate in marine and marine shipping services.

With regard to the joint project “Doctor”, which was established in cooperation between the group and the Emirati medical services provider “Barjeel Holding”, through which opportunities for cooperation with the Ministry of Health in Angola will be discussed to provide logistical services and enhance the supply chain to transfer medical equipment, medicines and health supplies throughout the country.
