The Foreign Minister meets the Prime Minister of Lebanon in the city of El Alamein

Bader Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians abroad, today, Wednesday, Dr. Nawaf Salam, the Lebanese Prime Minister, during his first official visit to Egypt, which comes within the framework of the historical and fraternal ties that bring Egypt and the sisterly Lebanese Republic and the privacy of the relationship between the two brotherly peoples ."RTL"> & nbsp;

Minister Abdel -Ati welcomed the Lebanese Prime Minister, highlighting what his visit to Egypt represents an important step towards strengthening the path of bilateral relations, stressing Egypt’s appreciation for the stimulating efforts he is in order to preserve the security and stability of brotherly Lebanon and support the national state institutions, and extend its authority over the entire Lebanese lands ."RTL"> The two sides have expressed appreciation for the escalating momentum witnessed by Egyptian-Lebanese relations in recent months, stressing the aspiration to the continuation of this growing pattern of consultation and coordination, which reflects the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and keeps pace with the current regional challenges. They also confirmed the keenness to upgrade the level of bilateral relations to broader horizons, especially in the economic and commercial fields, and expressed the aspiration to hold the tenth session of the Joint Higher Committee headed"Ltr">."Full-Width Clearfix"> & nbsp;

Minister Abdel -Ati renewed Egypt’s fixed support for the sisterly Lebanese Republic in light of the repeated Israeli violations of the agreement to stop hostilities, which is a flagrant violation of international law and the Security Council Resolution 1701. The Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed to the necessity of fully non -selective implementation of the Security Council resolution from all parties, and to demand Israel to completely withdraw from southern Lebanon, and to stop all violations of Lebanese sovereignty and attack its lands and airspace. The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Egypt’s call to the international community of the need to support the reconstruction efforts in Lebanon, noting Egypt’s full readiness to provide its expertise in this regard, while stressing the need for the international community to support the institutions of the Lebanese state to enable it to undertake its full national responsibilities in supporting stability in Lebanon ."RTL"> The meeting also dealt with regional developments, foremost of which is the developments of the situation in the Gaza Strip, where Minister Abdel -Ati reviewed the efforts made by Egypt to reach a ceasefire agreement, ensuring the release of a number of hostages and prisoners, and opens the way for the entry into force of humanitarian aid, stressing Egypt’s firm commitment to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people ."RTL"> The meeting concluded by emphasizing the depth of the ties between the Egyptian and Lebanese people, and the keenness to continue to consult and coordinate at all levels, in the interest of the stability and prosperity of the two brotherly countries ."RTL"> & nbsp;
